Language Disorder Australia
Posted 10 days ago
Language Disorder Australia is seeking an exemplary Secondary Teacher for a vacancy in our Award Winning School, Mancel College.
Role: Teacher (Years 7–12)
Status: Permanent, Full Time
Role Commencing: Term 3, 2025 (Flexible/earlier start for the right candidate)
Location: Mancel College | Fig Tree Pocket, Brisbane
Multiple Roles Available: HASS Teacher, English Teacher, Maths/Science Teacher, Art Teacher (Art teacher is 0.6FTE across primary and senior school).
At Mancel College, we believe that every young person deserves to be seen for their potential, not their limitations.
We’re seeking a passionate and adaptable teacher to join our Senior School team: Someone with a background or special interest in a core subject/s such as HASS, English, Arts, Maths or Science who’s open to teaching across curriculum areas and committed to real impact.
This role is designed for someone who is more than a traditional teacher. Your primary teaching load will sit within your subject area of interest, be it HASS, Maths/Science, English or Art, (or a combination) and you’ll also contribute to supporting students in other areas such as Literacy, Numeracy or Health. Our approach values flexibility and collaboration, and our team thrives on working together to meet each student’s needs, wherever they’re at.
At Mancel College, you won’t just deliver differentiated content across different year levels, you’ll change the way students see themselves. Our learners are curious, capable and hungry for connection, but many arrive with a history of misunderstanding or missed opportunity due to Language Disorder and co-occurring disabilities. They need someone with an understanding of neurodiversity who sees them not as a diagnosis or a difficulty, but as a whole person ready to connect, belong and achieve.
Teaching here is different. You’ll have smaller class sizes, strong in-class support, and regular access to a multidisciplinary allied health team who are truly part of the learning environment. You’ll be surrounded by a team that values relationships, reflection and professional growth.
We’re looking for someone who wants to do more than teach, someone who wants to belong to something that matters. If you value connection, purpose, and the power of education to shift trajectories, we would love to hear from you.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As our Secondary Teacher you will:
Have the teaching qualifications, QCT registration, Child Safety Checks, experience, and knowledge to be a phenomenal and influential teacher
Understand the unique needs of neurodiverse students with Language Disorders and co-occurring disabilities, and can adapt your teaching to support them
Make a difference by empowering and advocating for your students’ academic, social and child safety success
Deliver outstanding educational services by tailoring your lessons creatively to meet each student's needs.
Design differentiated programs and strategies to address the educational needs of our students
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to implement innovative and adaptive ways of learning
Collaborate effectively with parents to proactively ensure transparency of student progress
Be committed to professional growth and are eager to keep learning and developing your skills
BENEFITS:
What can we give you in return for your passion:
An exceptionally satisfying experience as you take students on their learning journey
Professional Development: Expand your skill set with opportunities for transdisciplinary development, external and internal growth opportunities.

Annual salary increment progression PLUS yearly 3% salary increases as outlined in our Enterprise Agreement
More extras: 17.5% annual leave loading, 1 day of paid Health Screening Leave, 14 weeks Paid Parental Leave, Discounts with Medibank Health Insurance, Novated Car Leasing.
