Community Living Options (CLO) is a leading NDIS registered disability service provider.

We are a values-focused organisation, who put the people we support first. Established in 1982 by a group of local parents who wanted respite and accommodation for their adult children, we have expanded exponentially because our participants love our services.

About the Role:
Are you a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner with experience of specialist developmental assessment and intervention programs? Do you want to work for an organisation which is renowned for its PBS and human rights based therapeutic model of support, which has resulted in positive quality of life outcomes for participants including those with significant forensic histories? Are you interested in furthering your career and moving into a role where you will have the opportunity to develop your skills with the guidance and support of a clear development framework and experienced leadership? Do you want to work in a team which supports you to meet achievable KPIs and views time spent with participants and supporting frontline teams with plan implementation as a key element of positive behaviour support?

We are a team with a strong focus and reputation for providing the highest quality positive behaviour support and on actively developing the expertise and experience of our practitioners. We are passionate about the positive impact that we know high-quality positive behaviour support can have on the lives of participants.

We are looking for Core and Proficient PBS Practitioners that have experience with complex participants to join our friendly team remotely. You will be ready to move into a role where you can confidently work with a caseload which includes complex and high-risk participants and have the skills and experience to support them to achieve great outcomes. You should be a great communicator and able to develop and foster relationships between the people we support, their families, support workers and others in their network, so that they can achieve positive outcomes and live a great life.

You will:

  • Work with participants who have a higher proportion of either high frequency or high impact restrictive practice and use your expertise to promote their human rights.
  • Share your knowledge and skill and role model best practice within the team.
  • Have an achievable key performance indicator (KPI) in a supportive environment.
  • An understanding of and ability to implement person centred practices.
  • Able to provide expert support and guidance to implementing providers to implement and promote best practice in service delivery.

  • Contribute to the development of innovative practices and programs, reviewing and evaluating progress and outcomes.
  • Facilitate consumer engagement and feedback.

To be successful:
You should be registered at a minimum as a core practitioner with at least 1 year post registration experience in a positive behaviour support practitioner role. In addition, you have demonstrated experience supporting people with complex needs and contributing to positive developmental outcomes. Experience in working with people with a forensic and/or complex history will be necessary. A successful candidate will be collaborative and have great interpersonal skills, being able to communicate successfully, in writing and verbally, with both stakeholders and participants. Additionally, you will embrace our person-centred framework by dedicating time to building relationships to truly understand each individual. Therefore, every aspect of their supports is inclusive, accessible and tailored to their specific requirements and preferences.
