Our client is an expanding Civil Supply & Installation company who are recruiting for an Estimator/Draftsperson to join the team. You’ll be involved in a diverse and challenging scope of works, based in Narangba Industrial Hub, North Brisbane.

ROLE DUTIES
· Determining construction methods, materials, and quality standards, and drafting and interpreting specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods and procedures.
Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, civil plans, specifications, and related documents
Identifies labour, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, civil plans, specifications, and related documents
Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analysing information
Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information
Ensure all plans comply with building requirements
· Studying architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs and preparing detailed cost plans and estimates as tools to assist in budgetary control.
· Monitoring changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, and measuring, valuing, and negotiating variations to designs.
· Analysing structural systems for both static and dynamic loads.
· Assessing present and future travel flow patterns considering population increase and needs change.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLSET
Completion of a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (preferred but not essential)
Preferred previous experience within Estimating or Draftsperson position in Construction
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal staff, subcontractors, and the management team.
Experienced with the use of Microsoft Office and proficient in AutoCAD and Revit preferred.
A self-motivated individual with a proactive mindset and strong work ethic, capable of taking initiative and contributing hands-on when required
Excellent attention to detail and high standard of quality.
Understanding of Construction terminology and processes
Ability to prioritise tasks independently and manage time effectively.
Capable of reading civil plans and structural designs
Ability to work autonomously and/or as part of a team
Adaptable to changing circumstances
Desire to grow and develop professionally
