Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Degree or Gradate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related
- Previous refinery/chemical/LNG plant construction HSE experience is preferred.
- Experience in conducting accident investigations, compliance audits and project health surveys
- Emergency Response qualifications, i.e. confined space, vertical rescue and fire.
- Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.
- ICAM or TapRoot Certificate.
- Work at Height, Confined Space Entry, Hazardous Goods Management, First Aid certifications.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in developing rescue plans for high-risk work areas to ensure effective emergency response.
- Design and deliver training in height and rope rescue, basic fire response, and other emergency scenarios
- Maintain team competency through training records and competency matrices.
- Develop inspection and maintenance schedules for firefighting and rescue equipment, ensuring compliance and record-keeping.
- Contribute to risk assessments and proactively address high-risk areas within scope of responsibility.
- Respond to and coordinate emergency incidents involving the Emergency Response Team.
- Regularly review and update the Emergency Response & Preparedness Plan, core processes, and procedures.
- Collaborate with Operations Emergency Response Team on drills and cyclone readiness.
- Provide technical safety support to projects, ensuring risk controls are embedded in design and construction phases.
- Conduct safety inspections to ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and HSE plan requirements.
- Engage with clients, project teams, and subcontractors to advise on safety impacts to project design, cost, and scheduling.
- Support the development of risk assessments, JHAs, mitigation plans, training, and reporting.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned to support compliance with the HSE Management Plan.
