About the Role:
Hand & Home is seeking reliable, compassionate, and physically capable Disability Support Workers to support clients of all ages living in Sydney’s Inner West and Parramatta, including areas like Five Dock, Ryde, and surrounds.

This role involves weekday, after-school, and weekend availability and includes support for participants who may present with challenging behaviours and/or require manual handling and mobility assistance.

You’ll be providing tailored 1:1 support to help clients develop independence, life skills, and meaningful social engagement in both home and community settings. No two days are the same — expect a mix of structured activities, community outings, and in-home support.

Key Responsibilities:

Support children and adults in building independence and engaging with the community

Use behavioural strategies and maintain clear, consistent boundaries

Provide manual handling and mobility support (training provided if required)

Encourage participation in learning, life skills, and social/recreational activities

Communicate effectively with families and the care team

Maintain documentation and uphold professional standards of care

What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with individuals with disability, especially those with Autism, intellectual disability, and challenging behaviours

Knowledge or training in manual handling and mobility assistance

Physically fit, confident, and resilient

High energy, emotionally intelligent, and calm under pressure

Reliable, organised, and team-oriented

Comfortable assisting with light educational or life skills tasks

Essential Requirements:

NDIS Worker Screening Check

Working With Children Check (WWCC)

Current First Aid & CPR Certificate

Australian Driver’s Licence

Own reliable vehicle with Comprehensive Insurance
