Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our five main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About Mental Health Division:

Northern Health is the third largest mental health service in Victoria Northern.

Within the Mental Health Division, we pride ourselves on providing high quality mental health services to people living in the northern regions of Melbourne, and work in a collaborative way with consumers and carers based on recovery principles.

We aim to provide strong clinical leadership to support all staff in the provision of professional treatment and care by our integrated community teams, inpatient, and residential services.

The Role:

You will be responsible for the implementation of a clinical psychology program at our Broadmeadows Inpatient Unit at Broadmeadows Hospital in a part time fixed term position (parental leave) - 48 hours per fortnight until November 2025.

This is an opportunity for you to be part of a skilled and compassionate team, in providing specialised care for consumers experiencing acute mental health challenges.

Along with the Program Manager, the Clinical Nurse Leader and other allied health staff you will play a key role in this vital service.

As a pivotal part of the multidisciplinary team, you will drive clinical excellence, foster a positive and supportive environment, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of consumers in our care.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A current registration with AHPRA, possess clinical endorsement as a psychologist, or be working towards clinical endorsement.
• A Post Graduate degree in Clinical Psychology.
• High competence in at least one evidence based psychological treatment.
• High competence in psychological assessment.
• Demonstrated skill and experience in working in a public mental health service.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with complex cases of mental illness.
