Position: Primary and Secondary Education Tutors

Subjects: - English (Years 1-12 EAL/EFL) ;

- Scholarship English and Selective school English

Tasks & responsibilities

Provide group or one-on-one tutoring sessions to students in primary and secondary year levels.

Collaborate with other teams to ensure continuity in learning and support the integration of tutoring sessions.

Stay up-to-date with curriculum changes and educational best practices to enhance teaching methods and approaches.

Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student confidence and academic growth.

Qualifications & experience

Have obtained a Bachelor's degree or a current university student

Hold a Working with Children Check (WWCC) or Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration, or willing to apply for one upon successful appointment

Available to work after school and on weekends

Previous tutoring or teaching experience in primary or secondary education is preferred

Demonstrate great understanding of Victorian curriculum and VCAA study design, especially a strong knowledge of the relevant subject matter and curriculum

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues

Ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles and abilities

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students of diverse backgrounds.

Strong organisational skills to plan and manage tutoring sessions effectively.

Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practices.

IB teaching experience will be considered favourably

Able to prepare and tailor their lesson plans and worksheets using basic office applications such as PowerPoint slides, PDF and zoom
