Description

We’re looking for driven and committed VCE English Language tutors to join our passionate tutoring team at Contour Education. Take the lead in helping students get the most out of their learning experience, build strong relationships, and make a real impact.

As an Assistant Tutor, you will play a crucial role in supporting student learning by acting as a secondary tutor during classes (most classes have two tutors), helping address student questions and clarifying concepts while the primary tutor teaches. You'll also conduct 1-on-1 video consultations outside of class hours, which students can book at no extra cost, provide ongoing text-based support to answer student questions promptly after class, and proofread and review learning materials to ensure quality and accuracy.

All additional support provided to students outside of scheduled class hours is completely free for students, but you'll be fully compensated for your time and effort!

Multiple roles are available across our Victorian campuses: Point Cook, Narre Warren, Glen Waverley, Box Hill, and Melbourne CBD. This role also offers a hybrid work-from-home component, for proofreading, consultations, and text-based support.

Competitive Compensation

Assistant Tutors earn a competitive hourly rate with clear pathways for progression into primary tutor roles and senior positions, offering higher pay and greater responsibility. For secondary tutoring, 1-on-1 consults, proofreading, and text-based support, the rate is $30 per hour (plus Super)—so whether you're supporting students in class or working from home answering questions, you’ll be paid for every hour you contribute. ⭐ 43+ Raw Study Score in VCE English Language
🎓 First Year Uni English Language Knowledge or Above
🕒 Tutoring Experience in VCE English Language
🏆 Academic Awards in English Language

NOTE: These are not hard-fast academic requirements; however, they are favourable to your application.

Other Requirements

• Full Academic Year Commitment (e.g. no overseas exchange trips for 8 weeks)
• Sign an NDA (e.g. can't distribute our resources/organisation info to others)
• Agree to a non-compete clause (e.g. you can't tutor student groups or with other organisations)
• Ability to Commit to Weekly Classes (e.g. can't constantly reschedule or miss classes)
• Travel to our Campuses (e.g. Glen Waverley, CBD, Box Hill, Narre Warren or Point Cook)
• Genuine Desire to Motivate Students (e.g. your primary goal is to help students achieve their potential, like us!)
• Past VCE Graduate (students learn best from those who once were in their shoes!)
