Our client is an independent family-owned reputable dairy manufacturer and distribution company who provides fresh high-quality milk and yoghurt products to local suppliers, and they are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join their ever-expanding team.

Quality Assurance Manager

· Develop, implement and maintain Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) systems for all dairy products.

· Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (DFSV, HACCP, SQF).

· Conduct internal audits, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and coordinate external regulatory and third-party audits.

· Oversee and be responsible for product testing, including microbiological, chemical, and sensory analyses, ensuring compliance with product specifications.

· Monitor raw materials, in-process products and finished goods to ensure adherence to quality standards, including compliance with supplier requirements and specifications.

· Work closely with the production team to maintain hygiene and safety protocols.

· Identify and resolve quality issues during production to prevent defects or contamination.

· Lead and mentor the Quality Control team, providing ongoing training to enhance skills, knowledge and performance in line with quality objectives.

· Work with the NPD and Food Safety Project Coordinator on training programs for employees on hygiene, food safety, and quality control procedures.

· Promptly investigate and resolve customer complaints concerning product quality to ensure customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

· Lead troubleshooting of product quality issues and develop, implement and monitor corrective and preventative actions to ensure long-term resolution and continuous improvement.

· Work with the sales and marketing team to ensure customer expectations are met.

· Maintain quality records, SOPs and certifications as per industry and regulatory standards including Country of Origin (CO), Health Star Rating, National Product Catalogue (NPC), Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO), Food Labelling Standards and product specifications.

· Prepare and submit quality reports to senior management.

· Stay updated on industry trends, emerging quality standards and new dairy technologies.

· Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness.

· Ensure all maintenance and or mechanical works are adhering to quality standards.

· Perform ad hoc duties as required to support the business needs.

Experience & Qualifications Required:

· Tertiary qualifications in dairy or food science.

· Minimum 5 years of experience in managing Quality and in house laboratory of a food manufacturing facility.

· A thorough understanding of Food standards codes (FSANZ) and food safety regulating bodies DFSV, DAWE and SQF and major retailing customers’ quality standards.

· Experience in managing food labelling and product specifications.

· Experience as SQF / HACCP Practitioner.

· NPD and dairy industry exposure is a MUST.

· High level of communication, negotiation and leadership skills.

· Superior and efficient problem-solving skills.

· High level computer skills, particularly with MS WORD, MS EXCEL and MS OUTLOOK.

· Attention to details in an FMCG environment.

· Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

· 9AM – 5:30AM (open to starting and/or finishing earlier) 40 hours a week MIN.

· SALARY - $110 - $130K + SUPER (Dependent on experience).
