Our client is a proudly independent Dairy Manufacturer and Distributer, who are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead their Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions. Reporting to the General Manager, you will ensure all products meet the highest food safety and quality standards while promoting a culture of continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and sustain Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) systems for all dairy products.
• Ensure full compliance with food safety standards and regulatory requirements, including DFSV, HACCP, and SQF.
• Lead internal audits, conduct Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) reviews, and coordinate third-party and regulatory audits.
• Supervise product testing activities - including microbiological, chemical, and sensory evaluations - to meet specification standards.
• Monitor and enforce quality standards across raw materials, production processes, and final products.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve product quality issues and customer complaints to drive continuous improvement.
• Manage, coach, and develop the Quality Control team to achieve high performance and adherence to quality goals.
• Oversee the maintenance of product specifications, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and industry certifications (e.g., Country of Origin, Health Star Rating, National Product Catalogue, APCO, food labeling compliance).
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional departments including Production, New Product Development (NPD), Sales, and Marketing to uphold and enhance product quality.

What We're Looking For:

• A tertiary degree in Dairy Science, Food Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience overseeing quality systems and managing internal laboratories within a food manufacturing environment.
• Comprehensive understanding of food safety and quality regulations, including FSANZ, DFSV, DAWE, SQF, and major retailer standards.
• Certified HACCP and/or SQF Practitioner.
• Proven experience in managing food labelling compliance and maintaining detailed product specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, and critical problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Previous experience in the dairy industry and involvement with New Product Development (NPD) is highly advantageous.
• High attention to detail with the ability to perform effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced FMCG environment.
