The Opportunity
As a member of the Site Technical team, the Quality Assurance Technician role is a technical position, reporting directly to the Quality Manager. The role is responsible for providing quality management to the production process.
This position will suit a person who is detail oriented. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist in maintaining the current HACCP and ISO Certification, ensuring that all relevant documentation is to standard and in line with certification regulations.
- Maintain and implement quality control procedures to eliminate Non-Conformances. Target of zero customer CAR to be achieved over the next 12 months.
- Work with the process workers and technicians and the Manufacturing Manager to ensure non-conforming products are rectified as soon as possible to allow for production to run at optimal capacity.
- Support site performance achievement by driving a quality culture through coaching & building capability in production team members.
- Assist production teams by being a key part of New Product Development and changes to packaging.
- Assist and provide expertise with product quality testing.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of quality control activities and results.
- Participate in responding to internal and external audits and assist in the identification of issues to reduce audit risks.
- Assist with the investigation of external NCRs and identifying root causes.
- Investigate internal iCars, identify the root cause and provide corrective and preventative actions, training and timely close out.
- Manage Quality meeting agenda.
- Facilitate GMP and report findings to Quality Assurance Manager
- Ensure testing apparatus is maintained for calibration and servicing of equipment, and preparation of samples for external testing at nominated frequency.
- Conduct inspections and testing on finished products.
- Communicate with all stakeholders about any quality concerns.
- Drive a positive food safety and quality culture on site.
- Support the Quality Assurance Manager to build and maintain strong personal relationships with stakeholders.
About You
To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate:
- Education in (Science/Food Science), or related field or significant relevant industry experience.
- 3-4 years experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to meet deadlines and exhibit a high degree of flexibility.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, supervision, reporting and organisational skills with a high demonstrable level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Excellent understanding of HACCP systems and ISO standards
- Working knowledge of WHS Practices
- Demonstrate understanding and adherence to the Good Manufacturing Practice policy.
- Ability to prioritise work and competing timelines to meet expectations.
- Strong commitment to GMP and personal hygiene
- Strong focus on teamwork and delivering results.
- A proactive approach to resolving issues and high attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office, SAP and ASPECT skills
