About the role:

We are committed to providing high-quality, person-centred care and are looking for a passionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist at Melville Cares, you will partner with clients to assess, plan, and implement occupational therapy and rehabilitation programs tailored to meet individual needs, goals, and preferences. You will manage a caseload of clients, ensuring they receive effective and safe services that promote independence, health, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

Therapeutic Planning and Clinical Delivery:

Conduct person-centred, comprehensive Occupational Therapy (OT) assessments to optimise clients' activities of daily living, wellbeing, and leisure within the community.

Develop and implement individualised treatment and OT programs based on physical and psychosocial assessments.

Manage a caseload, providing therapeutic interventions, education, counselling, and care.

Deliver reports, both verbal and written, to relevant team members and external stakeholders.

Act as a consultant on OT rehabilitation issues and participate in community development projects.

Regularly evaluate and adjust OT plans to ensure client goals are met and promote self-management.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate with health professionals and the clinical team to ensure outcomes-focused treatment.

Communicate clients' needs and goals effectively across services and care settings.

Work with clients and caregivers to support care arrangements that facilitate goal achievement.

Administration:

Complete all client documentation in accordance with legislative, accreditation, and organisational standards.

Maintain professional skills and CPD requirements, participating in quality improvement activities.

Prepare reports for the Allied Health Lead and coordinate resources for efficient service delivery.

Provide supporting documentation for home modifications and identify areas for improvement.

Communicate respectfully with clients, representatives, staff, and the community.

As the successful candidate, you must meet these selection criteria:

Tertiary qualifications and current full registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist.

2+ years of experience in occupational therapy.

Experience in prescribing aids, equipment, and home modifications.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to problem-solve and resolve conflict.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Client Management Systems.

Excellent time management and organisational skills.

A commitment to upholding the Vision, Mission, and Values of Melville Cares.

Current Driver’s Licence and a roadworthy vehicle.

National Police clearance (less than 3 months old).
