About the role

This is a Heavy Diesel Fitter role based in Coober Pedy and the Outback region of South Australia. You will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on a range of heavy mining equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. The role will involve both workshop-based and on-site work, requiring flexibility and the ability to work outdoors in remote locations.

What you'll be doing

Conduct scheduled maintenance and repairs on heavy mining equipment and machinery including excavators, haul trucks, dozers, and graders

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement solutions

Liaise with site supervisors and managers to ensure timely completion of work

Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used

Assist with the training and mentoring of junior technicians

Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with company policies and procedures

What we're looking for

A qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter with a relevant trade certificate or equivalent qualification

Extensive experience (5+ years) working on a wide range of heavy mining equipment and machinery

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to effectively troubleshoot and repair issues

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication skills to liaise with on-site personnel

Commitment to safety and a demonstrated track record of safe work practices

Willingness to work in remote locations and flexible to work a casual schedule
