Role purpose
The Manager’s primary role is to provide leadership and accountability to the Team Leader and staff, funders and other community stakeholders for staff to engage families to achieve better outcomes for the safety of children and our indigenous community.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead the local Foster and Kinship Care team
- Manage the intake and assessment of potential carers
- Monitor caseloads and case plans and ensure clients are progressing towards goals
- Provide leadership to staff on service delivery to clients, allocation of internal resources to service delivery and support staff development by providing relevant advice to the Executive
- Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Be accountable for achieving targets, including indicators that support service delivery and CQID strategic and operational plans
- Achieving team and service delivery performance objectives including client satisfaction.
- Ensure quality assurance processes are embedded in service delivery and lead complaint resolution
- Contribute to reporting, business plans and promotional activity
- Be accountable for achieving key performance indicators, including indicators that support service delivery and CQID strategic and operational plans
- Lead and monitor the recruitment, performance, development and wellbeing of staff members
- Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with government departments, external stakeholders, service providers and community
- Represent CQID at relevant designated external meetings and forums
- Participate in and contribute to the organisation’s compliance obligations under the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and Human Services Quality Standards (HSQS)
- At all times work within CQID’s Workplace Health & Safety Policies and Procedures
- Other responsibilities as directed by the Chief Executive Officer

Qualifications and experience
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate capability in the following areas:
Essential
- Holds a current C Class Queensland Driver’s Licence
- Current Working with Children Check, “Blue Card”
- Holds or is willing to obtain a First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Approved Child Safety and Personal History Screen Check
Desirable
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Services
- Qualifications or knowledge related to Child Protection
- Experience at successfully leading and developing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff members
- Experience at successful service delivery to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
Skills and attributes
Essential
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage – [Note: Non-Indigenous applicants will only be considered if no suitable Indigenous candidates are attracted in the first round of applicants]
- Planning, budgeting and client engagement
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software
- Physical ability to undertake job responsibilities
- Ability to communicate effectively; spoken and written
- Self-starter, motivated and able to self-manage work tasks
- Strong connection to and knowledge of local Indigenous Community
