About the role

As a Light Vehicle Mechanic FIFO, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing the fleet of light vehicles for our client, a company operating in the Coober Pedy and Outback SA region. This is a casual position that will require you to work on a fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) basis, providing flexibility and the opportunity to work in a remote, challenging and rewarding environment.

What you'll be doing

• Carry out routine servicing and maintenance on a variety of light vehicles, including cars, utes and small trucks
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults in a timely and efficient manner
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs, ensuring vehicles are kept in optimal working condition
• Maintain detailed records of work carried out and parts used
• Liaise with the operations team to ensure the fleet is well-maintained and ready for use
• Assist with other mechanical tasks as required

What we're looking for

• Formal qualification in Automotive Mechanics or Light Vehicle Repair, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of light vehicle makes and models
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote and challenging environment
• Flexible and adaptable approach to work, with the willingness to work a FIFO roster
• Current driver's licence and the ability to obtain a remote area driving permit
