The Opportunity
Melton City Council seeks a Senior Asset Management Officer within the Engineering and Asset Services Department for a 12 month fixed term period.
This role reports to the Coordinator Asset Management and GIS, and will be responsible for developing and implementing Council’s Asset Management plans, strategies, policies and procedures, ensuring this framework supports strategic asset management planning and infrastructure service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide involvement in the development, implementation and review of strategic Asset Management strategies, plans, policies and procedures, to ensure Council meets its corporate objectives and requirements in relation to Asset Management.
- Undertake analysis and modelling of asset information to develop optimised annual and long term capital works programs, which integrate into and support Council’s Asset Management and Financial plans and policies.
- Undertake reviews of asset replacement costs and the revaluation of all infrastructure assets in collaboration with the Finance Department, including preparation of reports detailing asset valuations for Finance and external auditors.
- In conjunction with asset data custodians, plan, manage and implement data capture programs relating to asset inventory, asset condition assessments and asset revaluation programs.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Asset Management and/or Engineering.
- Extensive knowledge of Asset Management and the delivery of these services.
- Significant knowledge of legislation, acts, regulations, Australian Standards, practices and guidelines in relation to infrastructure assets and asset management.
- Highly developed technical knowledge and skills in using the Asset Management System and predictive modelling software.
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
