The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to step into a leadership role and take ownership of the organisation’s growing finance team, while reporting directly to the Director. In this position, you will combine hands-on financial work with close collaboration with the management team to support key business decisions through high-quality information and insights.

The Role

As Finance Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing day-to-day financial activities, including accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger functions
• Developing and monitoring budgets, providing insightful analysis to support decision-making
• Monitoring and managing cash flow to optimise working capital and support operational needs
• Preparing accurate and timely financial reports for management and stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators
• Implementing and maintaining robust internal controls to safeguard company assets
• Leading and managing one direct report (bookkeeper)

The Ideal Person

Our ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, and either holds or is working towards their CA or CPA qualification. You bring proven experience as a Finance Manager (or in a similar role), managing end-to-end finance within a small to medium-sized business, and you’re comfortable working both independently and in a leadership capacity.

You’re known for your analytical thinking, attention to detail, proactive approach to problem-solving, and strong communication skills. You enjoy being hands-on while also contributing strategic insights to support business growth.

Experience with Xero, Excel, and MYOB will be highly regarded.

You may come from one of the following backgrounds:

• Experience in a Big 4 or other chartered accounting firm in Australia at manager level or above
• Experience in a small to medium-sized organisation as a Finance Manager or in a more senior role, with solid tenure

Salary / Rate

• $120k - $140k + Super
• Permanent full-time position
