We are seeking a part time Senior Dental Assistant (approx. 30-35 hours per week over 4-5 days) with flexibility to work shifts within our business hours of 7am-7pm. The successful candidate will need to have availability on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays at a minimum.

The successful candidate must have an excellent command of the English language and be professionally presented. The position will suit someone with a passion for delivering exceptional dental care to patients, and a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment. Experience in complex surgical and implant nursing, four-handed dentistry and radiography will be highly regarded.

Essential Attributes:

Prior experience in dental assisting, with experience in surgical nursing highly regarded

Good typing and computer skills with experience in Word and Excel

Professional presentation

Team player

Certificate III and IV in Dental Assisting (or equivalent) will be highly regarded

Experience with dental photography will be highly regarded

Duties will include:

Four-handed dental assisting, including in complex restorative and implant procedures

All aspects of infection control within a dental office

Meeting and greeting of patients, answering telephone enquiries and taking of payments

Assisting with occasional administration tasks as required

Lab coordination

Remuneration at above-award rates will be based on the experience of the chosen candidate.

Qualifications & experience

This is a senior role, and the successful candidate will have prior experience in dental assisting at a high level. Certificate III and IV in Dental Assisting (or equivalent) will be highly regarded, as will additional training underdone through the ADA.

Tasks & responsibilities

Primarily, your role will involve four-handed dentistry with an experienced dentist who aspires to excellence. At times, you will be required to cover front office responsibilities. You will be required to have exceptional customer service and telephone manner. Preferably, you will have experience inOasis dental software and be able to manage Outlook, Excel and Word programs.
