Job description

What will the role involve?

As a Sauce Maker you will be doing a range of different things to help our sauces and mayo’s come to life, if we were to give a “snapshot”, the role would look something like:

  • Locating, weighing and preparing batches of ingredients
  • Doing it from “scratch” correctly formulating raw materials into beautiful sauces and mayo's according to the recipes that we have.
  • Work within a production line using Fillers, Cooking/Mixing Equipment, Pumps, Printers and Boilers experience is highly desirable (but not mandatory as training will be provided).
  • Familiarity with HACCP and Food Standards Codes will be seen as a distinct advantage
  • A track record of reliability & dependability in relation to attendance and work ethic.
  • Be physically fit. Capable of some heavy lifting.
  • Control and process the mixing of ingredients through specialised equipment to finish with a consistent high-end product.
  • Using basic test equipment and interpreting results to monitor consistency of product manufacturer.
  • Ability to problem solve when product consistency does not conform with specifications to rectify product to meet the requirements set.
  • Manage ingredient stock to maintain quality and levels, and report issues to team leaders.
  • Assist the team in other areas to complete the manufacturing process to ensure a completed packaged product achieves desired production requirements and customer expectations.
  • Fill out documentation in accordance with internal policies, procedures and food safety requirements.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report any performance or maintenance requirements immediately.
  • Set up, clean and pack down all equipment and workspaces.

Qualifications and Experience:

What we are looking for:

  • Certificate in food processing or commercial cookery is ideal.
  • Previous experience as a Kitchenhand (preferable).
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a food production facility.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices in a food production facility.
  • Some manual handling and lifting will be required.
  • Someone who can show up, enjoy their work and get along well with their team.
  • Attention to detail with quality and cleanliness.
