Data Product Delivery Manager - Fair Trading Operations, Regulatory Intelligence, Data Management & Reporting

Grade: Clerk Grade 11/12
Salary range: $145,378 - $168,130
Term: Ongoing role
Location: Sydney & Parramatta, hybrid role - average of 50% days face to face split between CBD and Paramatta offices as required. Flexible working arrangements available within these constraints.

About the Role:

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Data Product Delivery Manager to lead the agile planning and delivery of data products. You will develop, continuously refine and prioritise a data product backlog to enable two technical teams to deliver iteratively to a range of stakeholders. You will capture feature requirements from internal clients, turn these into structured user stories, drive sprint planning and execution to enable technical teams to deliver high-quality products quickly and iteratively, and continuously mature and embed agile practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and continuous management of a comprehensive backlog of data product and application features.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and convert these into epics and user stories.
• Communicate and negotiate with stakeholders regarding the prioritization of their items within the overall product backlog.
• Provide clear and timely updates on delivery timeframes, prioritization decisions, and progress against business goals.
• Manage sprint planning across technical teams to ensure continuous delivery of user-focused features.
• Ensure high solution quality through robust validation and evaluation frameworks.
• Embed agile best practices to maximize team efficiency and product quality.

Key Challenges:

• Fostering an agile delivery culture and ensuring teams take ownership of frequent production releases.
• Effectively capturing the organization's data needs and describing them in ways that enable effective iterative development.
• Balancing competing stakeholder needs while building toward a long-term product and platform architectural strategy.

Essential Requirements:

• Proven experience in technical program management or engineering delivery roles.
• Broad technical understanding across various platforms, systems, and engineering disciplines.
• Familiarity with data & analytics technologies, including SQL, Python, R, or Java.
• Proven experience supporting mature agile teams
