An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Security Operations Specialist to join a leading educational institution. This role offers the chance to manage day-to-day cybersecurity operations, ensuring the safety and security of information across all areas. With a competitive salary range of $135,000 - $145,000.
What you'll do:
As a Security Operations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day cybersecurity operations. Your responsibilities will include monitoring cyber intelligence feeds, preparing phishing simulation campaigns, generating cybersecurity reports, conducting vulnerability scans, responding to incidents and vulnerabilities, and contributing to the design of cybersecurity controls. You will also stay updated with the latest trends in cybersecurity and communicate technical concepts effectively to various stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyse cyber intelligence feeds to identify potential threats.
- Prepare, deploy, and evaluate phishing simulation campaigns.
- Generate and present cybersecurity reports for compliance monitoring and strategic decision-making.
- Conduct internal vulnerability scans and coordinate remediation efforts.
- Respond proactively to cybersecurity incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of cybersecurity controls.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and vulnerabilities.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Security Operations Specialist role will bring at least 3 years of experience in cyber security or related fields. You should have proven experience in cybersecurity operations and proficiency in monitoring cyber intelligence feeds. Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning tools is essential. Experience operating a phishing and security awareness training platform would be advantageous. Strong knowledge of technical concepts across applications, networks, servers, and client-facing infrastructure is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for this role. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM or CompTIA Security+ would be a plus.
