About the Role
Working under general direction and reporting to the Research Development Manager, the Research Support Officer will provide administrative support and advice, along with project management support for the College of Medicine and Public Health and related institutes and centres.
The incumbent's focus will be primarily supporting rural and remote health research activity. With some travel required, you will be based at either Northern Territory, Darwin or Alice Springs sites.
This role is also responsible for:
- Interpretation and analysis of regulations and administrative procedures in accordance with university policies and other relevant information.
- Coordinating and facilitating communications and advice to researchers, including advising in relation to external grant guidelines and funding rules, external funding opportunities, professional development and training.
- Providing administrative assistance in relation to research matters, including some post-award support.
- Provide support to both the College Leadership team and researchers on a range of strategic programs to promote and enhance research outcomes.

About You
With previous experience in research administration, applying your excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills you will develop strong relationships with staff, colleagues and stakeholders. You have well-developed written and verbal communication, attention to detail and can autonomously and proactively support researchers in the College.
You will also be able to demonstrate:
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and advise on regulations and administrative policies and procedures.
- Experience in drafting reports and collection and analysis of data for statistical purposes.
- Experience in development and monitoring of budgets.
- Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills to understand a complex situation or problem and develop innovative ideas and opportunities for resolving them.
