We’ve partnered with a world-class train manufacturer to find passionate Mobile Technicians to work on the exciting New Intercity Fleet (NIF) project across NSW.
Whether you’ve worked in rolling stock, mining, defence, or heavy industry, if you're mechanically or electrically minded and love problem-solving on the go, this role is for you.
About the Role
As a Mobile Technician, you’ll play a critical role in keeping the New Intercity Fleet running safely and reliably. Your day-to-day will include:
Performing planned and corrective maintenance on modern rolling stock
Fault-finding and system diagnostics across electrical and mechanical systems
Interpreting and acting on train system data logs
Ensuring trains meet Minimum Operating Standards to run on the network
Collaborating with technical support teams and consortium partners
Completing maintenance documentation and reporting
Contributing to a safety-first culture through proactive hazard identification and compliance
You’ll be working both in the depot and in-service, giving you variety and ownership over your work.
About You
Certificate III (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical trade
NSW Driver’s Licence
Strong fault-finding skills (electrical or pneumatic)
Ability to interpret schematics and solve problems under pressure
Experience in rolling stock, mining, transport, or related industries is highly regarded
What’s on offer
$148,000 base salary + super + penalties on overtime and public holidays
Accommodation provided during training, plus meal and travel allowances
Enjoy a 4-day work week during training: Monday to Thursday - 6am - 6pm
Long weekends off every week (Friday–Sunday) for the first 2–4 months whilst in training (you can drive back home Thursday evening, if preferred)
Once trained, join a close-knit mobile team based in Mt Victoria, supporting high-performance intercity trains
Hands-on, varied work - from maintenance and troubleshooting to in-service response

Locations:
Training: Kangy Angy, NSW (2–4 months with accommodation provided and travel, and meal support)
Ongoing Deployment: Mt Victoria, NSW (roster includes day, afternoon, and night shifts)
