Mission of Role
The Diversity in Tech Lead is responsible for leading the TCA’s diversity, equity and inclusion program and supporting our mission to create a technology ecosystem in Australia that is as diverse as the people it serves. In particular, this includes delivering the TCA’s Next Wave: Women’s Tech Transitions program.
The role will involve working with TCA members to develop and deliver strategic diversity-focused initiatives that enable more women and other cohorts to successfully transition into and thrive within technology careers. This position requires significant stakeholder engagement, excellent project management, and strategic initiative delivery, collaborating closely with internal teams and external industry partners.
Key Outcomes this Role is Responsible for:
Program Initiative Development and Execution: Lead and deliver diversity-focused initiatives, including the Next Wave program, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and timelines.
Industry Relationship Management: Build and maintain partnerships with stakeholders, ensuring active engagement and collaboration for program success.
Event Coordination and Promotion: Oversee event planning and coordination, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for participants.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams to leverage expertise, ensuring successful program execution and alignment with TCA objectives.
Performance Tracking and Reporting: Monitor and report on program outcomes, ensuring transparency and accountability to stakeholders and government funding bodies.
Continuous Improvement: Refine program approaches based on feedback and measurable outcomes, driving sustained impact in the diversity space.
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
Motivation to create a more inclusive and diverse workforce within the tech industry.
Proven ability to autonomously develop, plan, and execute complex programs, identifying new opportunities and initiatives to drive impactful diversity outcomes.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and effectively manage relationships at senior levels across diverse industry and community stakeholders.
Capable of working independently, including confidently representing the TCA in public forums and the media.
Remuneration and Conditions of Employment
Remuneration: $120–145k p.a., incl. Super commensurate with experience
Additional benefits include salary sacrificing options, monthly phone allowance, and training budget.
Position is a full-time permanent role with a six-month probation period.
Working from home with 2 days per week in the office can be accommodated, and other flexible arrangements can be discussed.
Position based in Canberra, Sydney, or Melbourne
