The Manager Therapeutic Services will manage all services within the Therapeutic Services. Program delivery includes; Out of Home Care, Foster Care, Kinship Care, First Supports, ACSAS, Aboriginal Access Point and Therapeutic Residential Care.
Day to day operational management will include:
• Managing a diverse team of staff.
• Integrating all program areas to maximise benefits and services to the Mallee District Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
• Managing service delivery to ensure continuous improvement, risk management and quality assurance are achieved, and accreditation standards are met or exceeded at all times.
The Manager has day to day responsibility and accountability for the development of a responsive and efficient framework for operational service delivery that meets the requirements of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community as identified in the Strategic Plan and in accordance with MDAS Policies and procedures, exercise delegation of authority and make appropriate decisions.

Key Selection Criteria:
• Promote and actively lead Family and Community Services Leadership team including staff development and change management activities. Acknowledge professional competency, personal integrity and credibility that fosters the trust and cooperation of others.
• Communicate, consult, liaise and negotiate with a broad range of people both Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal people at all levels to achieve broad project objectives and goals.
• Work independently under broad direction to plan activities and set priorities that achieve objectives and meet deadlines, often in a context of conflicting priorities. Analyse major and complex issues, isolate essential aspects and initiate, develop and pursue innovative and practical solutions in collaboration with others.
• Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people particularly those relevant to Family and Community. Knowledge of current national and state government strategies and initiatives. Comprehensive knowledge of the Child and Families Act 2005.
• Take action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve services.
Qualification/s:
Diploma/Degree in Community Services/or management and demonstrated relevant experience.
Other Screening Requirements:
A current Driver’s License that allows you to drive in Australia.
A current Employee Working with Children Check card.
A current National Police Check.
