About the role

RKF Engineering Services is seeking an experienced Principal Structural Engineer to join our team in Wollongong, NSW. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for providing strategic structural engineering support and leadership to our growing business.

What you'll be doing

Lead the structural design and analysis for a variety of complex projects, including industrial, transport, mining and ports infrastructure developments.

Oversee the work of junior engineers and provide technical guidance and mentorship.

Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to develop innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions.

Ensure all projects meet relevant design standards, and safety requirements.

Contribute to the development of new processes and procedures to drive continuous improvement.

Represent the company at industry events and contribute to the broader engineering community

What we're looking for

Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status with a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

Minimum 10 years' experience in a senior structural engineering role, preferably in the industrial, transport, resources or infrastructure sectors.

Experience using Strand7 structural analysis software package.

Demonstrated expertise in structural analysis, design, and project management.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into practical solutions.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.

Passion for mentoring and developing junior engineers.

Fluent in written and spoken English.
