This advertisement is advertising for female-only workers pursuant to Section 27 of the Equal Opportunity Act.
I am an easy-going guy who is well-travelled and enjoys discussions about the world and sharing my viewpoints. I have a good sense of humour and like to joke about most things. I also enjoy sharing my life experiences and hearing about yours. I value living in my own home, which is designed to allow me to get around as independently as possible. I share my home with my cat who provides companionship when I am on my own. I also have an impressive collection of Star Wars memorabilia, Lego and a motorbike that sits in my lounge room.
I live with quadriplegia following an accident. I use an electric wheelchair for mobility and have reasonable upper body control. I need assistance with most activities of daily living, including personal care, domestic tasks and meal preparation. I have a team of highly valued and effective support staff who provide me daily support. As my home is purpose-built for my needs, I do have a ceiling hoist that staff use to assist me in transferring from bed to chair or chair to shower commode. Confidence in the use of a hoist is important in this role. I also require my meals to be cooked for me and prefer you to be skilled in this regard. Prior to my accident, I was a chef and worked in various places in Australia and overseas.
