This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our Community Development Department and contribute toward active community participation and celebration of our Cultural Heritage.
The Role
The Cultural Heritage Coordinator is responsible for leading the Council’s Cultural Heritage Program including coordinating the operations, staff and volunteers at the Cultural Heritage Centre. The Program provides high-quality and accessible services, activation, advocacy and education that ensure the creation, preservation and promotion of cultural heritage across the City of Norwood, Payneham & St Peters.
About You
To be successful in this position you will be a strategic thinker that possesses the following skills and experience:
· Qualification or experience in cultural heritage, history, Indigenous studies, Australian studies, anthropology or related discipline.
· Demonstrated project management, program development and community activation experience, preferably in support of improving community access and education of culture heritage or similar.
· Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing and maintaining significant collections including the identification, assessment, conservation and interpretation of places and objects that have cultural heritage value.
· High level verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
· Demonstrated leadership experience
