Our motel
The Villa Nova is a 24-room motel perfectly positioned to access all Toowoomba has to offer - including the City Centre, City Golf Course and shopping complexes, with restaurants and clubs a short stroll away.
Our guests find our modern, well-appointed apartments the perfect place to stay - whether for business or leisure, - as there is a range of bedding configurations suitable for business travel or family stays.

Position objective and working relationship
This is a hands-on role and includes responsibility for all day-to-day motel operations, team leadership, and ensuring compliance with all relevant WHS, fire, licensing, and essential services legislation. The successful applicants will also support and eventually lead the housekeeping team.
As owners, we aim to establish an open, friendly, and mutually respectful relationship with our managers. Communication and teamwork are at the heart of our approach.
Although we operate with a casual, approachable style, we are committed to excellence and expect the same from our managers. We welcome new ideas and encourage open discussion, but we also need confidence that our direction will be followed when decisions are made.
Our support to you
As owners, we believe in hands-on support during the transition period and beyond:
Initially, we will manage the housekeeping roster while you settle into the broader demands of the role.
We meet with our managers fortnightly for meetings or as required for support, and undertake specialised maintenance and room upgrades from time to time
As managers, you are encouraged to contact us at anytime — we are here to support you when you need
Back-office and administrative duties will remain the responsibility of us (the owners)
Key Accountabilities
Live onsite, work weekends and public holidays
Undertake all daily motel operations, including but not limited to:
Reception including guest meet and greet, bookings, enquiries and assistance
Administration:
Respond to guest feedback
Assist owners in the regular monitoring of room rates in response to local events
Team management, including rostering
Strip rooms in preparation for housekeepers
Ordering and stock take, including inventory management
Undertake basic room maintenance as required
Grounds maintenance including lawn mowing, edging and hedging
Organise and liaise with trade contractors if required
Required skills/qualifications
ABN and current Public Liability insurance
Demonstrated motel management experience and/or willingness to train within the motel industry (contract to be determined with successful applicant)
Passion and the motivation to succeed.
High standard of interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate and build rapport with a diverse range of people
High level of computer proficiency including Microsoft suite and Xero or similar
Working knowledge of Property Management Systems such as GuestPoint and SiteMinder, as well as online agencies including booking.com and Expedia
Current National Police check
First Aid certificate
Willingness to undertake an online management quiz if shortlisted
