The University of Newcastle is seeking an exceptional academic leader in Management to join Newcastle Business School as Professor of Management, while also stepping into a key strategic leadership role as Associate Dean of Sydney Campus. This role comes at an exciting time as we announce our new partnership with the Global Institute of Sport and Venues NSW, who manage the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), and Allianz Stadium, offering unique educational experiences in one of Australia's most iconic venues.

The Role

As Professor of Management, you will lead globally relevant and interdisciplinary research that delivers real-world impact. You’ll drive curriculum innovation, champion research-led teaching, mentor emerging academics, and foster excellence in the student experience. You’ll also play a key role in strengthening our industry partnerships, leveraging existing strong community and industry relationships.

In your three-year fixed-term appointment as Associate Dean (Sydney Campus), you’ll lead the development and delivery of initiatives that position the Sydney campus as a distinctive and growing presence in Australia’s competitive higher education market, building partnerships with industry, government, and professional bodies.

This continuing, full-time role is based at our Sydney Campus (Gadigal land of the Eora Nation), with an expectation that you will maintain regular presence at our Newcastle Campus (Awabakal land).

About You

This role would suit an outstanding academic leader with a strong national and international reputation in Management. You will have a proven track record in leading research, teaching, and engagement, and demonstrate a leadership style that embodies the values of collaboration, courage, and excellence.

As a strategic thinker and effective operational leader, you will have the ability to develop educational opportunities, expand teaching programs into new locations, and position the campus for continued growth and success.
