Our client is a leading vertically integrated mining services contractor operating across Western Australia’s most active iron ore regions. Following the $210M acquisition of one of WA's largest haulage contractors, and additional major investments into crushing and project infrastructure, they are expanding their technical team to support multiple mine sites.

We are currently seeking a Mine Planning Engineer with a focus on long-term planning, pit optimisation and project evaluation to support our next phase of growth.

About the Role:

Based out of the West Perth office, you will work closely with site-based technical teams to:

Develop and maintain long-term mine plans aligned with operational and commercial goals

Conduct pit design and optimisation using industry-standard software

Deliver project evaluation studies including scheduling, resource modelling, and cost scenarios

Liaise with geologists, operations, and project managers to integrate mine planning into broader project delivery

Provide technical input into new project assessments, acquisitions and site expansions

Conduct regular site visits to validate plans and collaborate with production teams

What We’re Looking For:

Degree-qualified Mining Engineer (or equivalent)

3–8 years’ experience in open-pit iron ore or similar bulk commodities

Proven capability in long-term planning, pit optimisation and mine design

Familiarity with mine planning software (e.g. Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac, or similar)

Strong analytical and communication skills

Flexibility to travel to site periodically as required
