Mining Commercial Processes

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer – Mining Infrastructure to support the planning, design, and execution of infrastructure projects in a mining environment. This role requires expertise in mining engineering and infrastructure development, with a strong emphasis on technical excellence, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement.

Role & Responsibilities

Lead and manage engineering aspects of mining infrastructure projects including haul roads, workshops, administrative buildings.

Support the design, procurement, and construction phases of civil, structural, and services infrastructure related to mine construction.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including geotechnical, environmental, and electrical engineers to deliver integrated project solutions.

Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

Assist with preparing and monitoring project budgets, schedules, and risk management plans as part of owner mining scope.

Ensure all engineering activities are executed in accordance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Assist with NI43.101 mining consultant management and other stakeholders.

Develop mine plan scenarios and physical schedules as required.

Liaise with contractors, consultants, and site teams to resolve technical issues and ensure quality execution.

Report on project progress, technical issues, and risk mitigation strategies to project leadership and stakeholders.

About You

Tertiary Education in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.

Experience in mining infrastructure or related project engineering roles.

Mining contractor, consulting or mine development experience desirable.

Proven track record in the design and delivery of infrastructure in a mining or heavy industrial environment on time and budget.

Some understanding or exposure of civil construction methodology sufficient for project management.

Familiarity with NI43.101 and other mining feasibility studies.

Strong knowledge of mining operations, infrastructure requirements, and construction methods.

CAD and Civil/Mine drafting skills highly desirable; Infrastructure layout etc.

Proficiency in engineering and project management software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project, Primavera).

Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Willingness and ability to travel to site for 3 to 4 weeks each quarter or as required by project demands to manage construction scope and meet with site teams.
