The Role

We are currently looking for a skilled and driven Leading Hand Carpenter to play a pivotal role on our construction sites. This position is ideal for a senior carpenter with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience (15 years or more preferred) and proven leadership capability in managing a crew of tradespeople.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a team of carpenters across diverse job sites throughout Melbourne

Deliver high-quality carpentry work, ensuring jobs are completed on schedule and within OH&S guidelines

Interpret architectural and construction plans accurately

Coordinate tasks and subcontractors efficiently to maintain project flow

Manage site safety, materials, and daily work schedules

Mentor apprentices and guide junior trades with patience and professionalism

Liaise with clients, project managers, and suppliers to ensure clear communication and expectations

What We're Looking For

Minimum 10 years of carpentry experience (15 years or more preferred)

Demonstrated leadership in a Leading Hand or similar supervisory role

Excellent technical and organisational skills

Strong understanding of OH&S practices and site compliance

High attention to detail and problem-solving ability

White Card and relevant trade qualifications

Own tools and reliable transport

Ability to work flexibly across sites in Melbourne
