About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and visionary Associate Dean who likes to take challenges to join our senior leadership team. This is a pivotal role responsible for the academic leadership and academic management of GBC’s programs.
As Associate Dean, you will work closely with the Dean and Campus Director/Registrar to bring GBC’s academic vision to life, shape curriculum, lead faculty, ensure regulatory excellence, and spearhead new initiatives that enhance our educational offerings and student outcomes. This opportunity provides you to make meaningful impact on the growth of GBC, fostering academic excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic academic leadership and oversight across all programs.
Drive excellence in curriculum design, delivery (including development of online capabilities), and academic planning.
Maintain rigorous academic standards, quality assurance, and continuous improvement processes.
Lead mentoring, performance development and recruitment of academic staff.
Ensure compliance with TEQSA and other regulatory bodies, acting as a key liaison when required.
Lead the design and introduction of new courses and academic services.
Promote and support student success, and academic distinction.
Oversee the student admissions process, academic counselling, and maintenance of academic records.
Contribute to institutional budgeting, governance, and long-term planning.
About You
You are an experienced academic leader with a deep commitment to quality education, continuous improvement, student success and taking on challenges. You will bring:
A PhD qualification in a relevant discipline.
Proven senior-level experience in higher education academic leadership.
Deep understanding of TEQSA and the Australian regulatory landscape.
Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, quality assurance, and academic operations.
Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
An inclusive, forward-thinking mindset with a passion for innovation and excellence.
Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
