We are now seeking a dedicated, strategic, and future-focused midwifery academic to join our leadership team in the role of Associate Dean, Midwifery. This senior appointment provides a significant opportunity to shape the growth, direction, and visibility of midwifery education and practice within one of Australia’s leading Schools of Nursing and Midwifery.
As the Associate Dean, Midwifery, you will:
- Lead the strategic direction, development, and delivery of high-quality midwifery education across undergraduate and postgraduate programs;
- Advocate for excellence in midwifery education, research, and practice;
- Build and strengthen clinical and industry partnerships to enhance student experience and workforce impact;
- Mentor and support academic staff across teaching, research, and service;
- Represent the School in key internal and external forums to elevate the profile and contribution of midwifery in healthcare and higher education; and
- Contribute to the School’s senior leadership team and overall strategic planning.

Appointment Information
The successful applicant will be appointed to a full-time, ongoing position as Professor of Midwifery OR as Associate Professor of Midwifery, with salary of $166,295 to $182,832 (ALEVD) / $213,161 (ALEVE) plus 17% University superannuation. Appointment to the role of Associate Dean, Research is for a three-year term.

Qualifications and Experience
The successful applicant:
- Must be registered or eligible for registration as a nurse or midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia;
- Will have completed a PhD;
- Will have completed qualifications in education and/or can demonstrate educational experience within a tertiary or clinical practice setting;
- Will have a sustained track record of research related activities within a tertiary education or clinical practice setting; and
- Will demonstrate a sound professional and academic track record in nursing or midwifery.
