We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer on behalf of a well-established Principal Builder to join a major $100M+ defence project in Sydney. This is a rare opportunity to be involved in a technically challenging and high-profile project within a secure, long-term sector.

Our client is a highly respected Principal Contractor with a strong track record delivering complex projects across residential, commercial and government sectors. With a growing presence in Defence construction, they’ve secured multiple long-term projects and offer a supportive culture focused on collaboration, growth, and project excellence.

The Role
As Project Engineer, you will work closely with the Project Manager and site teams to support the successful delivery of this multi-disciplinary defence build. You’ll be involved from the early stages, contributing to design coordination, procurement, quality control, and contractor management on a project that requires attention to detail, security compliance, and precision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with design and documentation coordination in collaboration with consultants and client representatives
• Manage procurement schedules, RFI processes, and subcontractor scopes
• Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and defence-specific standards
• Support construction programming, cost control, and reporting
• Liaise between site operations, head office, and external stakeholders to maintain alignment and progress

What We're Looking For:

• 2–5+ years’ experience as a Project Engineer on commercial, government, or defence builds
• Previous experience on projects over $50M highly regarded
• Strong understanding of construction documentation, procurement processes, and site coordination
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• Must be eligible for (or capable of obtaining) Defence security clearance
