About your new team
The Nursing and Midwifery Education and Research Unit (NMERU) drives the development of an appropriately skilled nursing and midwifery workforce to deliver evidence-based, person-focused care to our community.
About your new role
This role will work across subacute units which comprises of the Complex Management Unit, Acute Cognitive Unit and Geriatric Evaluation and Management Unit. The goal of care is to maximise health and functional status to enable transition to home, either to a private residence or institutional care facility. Your new role will include:
- Utilising expert educational knowledge to lead the development, review and maintenance of education tools and resources relevant to care of older people and sub acute nursing
- Leading the development, implementation and review of pathways within the department to support orientation, onboarding and clinical progression
- Leading the coordination and delivery of learning programs focused on sub acute geriatric and dementia care
Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $132 562 - $143 924 per annum

Oral health waiting times for general dental assessment have been reduced by almost 50 per cent in less than 12 months.
Planning for the Southport Health Precinct is underway, with a range of outpatient and community based services expected to move into refurbished buildings in 2014.
