As our new Finance Business Partner, you’ll become a trusted adviser to departments, deliver expert financial analysis, and drive systems and process improvements that help Council plan and perform at its best.

What You’ll Do
Build strong relationships with managers and budget holders across Council
Provide high-level financial support including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register, depreciation schedules, and disposals
Support the preparation of Council’s annual financial statements and statutory returns
Prepare general ledger reconciliations for accounts, leases, provisions, and other key areas
Assist in system training, documentation, and internal financial controls
Lead or contribute to continuous improvement in finance policies and processes
Actively support team functions, backfilling as required and collaborating across the unit
What You Bring
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, financial regulations, and reporting frameworks
Experience with financial systems and general ledger processes
Strong interpersonal and communication skills — you can translate numbers into strategy
A problem-solving mindset with great attention to detail and process improvement focus
Proven ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and work independently
