We're seeking an experienced and detail-focused Payroll Officer to join a large, fast-paced South Australian Government department on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a stable public sector contract, with an immediate start available for the right candidate.

About the Role

You'll be part of a collaborative payroll services team, processing high-volume fortnightly pay runs and managing payroll-related data for a large workforce. Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurate payroll processing and master data entry
• Coding timesheets and managing leave records
• Supporting reporting and compliance tasks
• Communicating with internal stakeholders and service users

What You'll Bring

• Current National Police Clearance (issued within the last 12 months - required for submission)
• Previous experience in payroll, accounting, or high-volume data entry
• Experience with CHRIS21 (preferred but not required)
• Excellent numeracy, attention to detail, and a team-first mindset
• Ability to meet daily productivity targets in a deadline-driven setting
