As an RTO and Independent School provider, our programs cater for the needs and interests of young people, senior secondary school students in Years 9 to 12, the general community, third age learners, and adults with a disability in supported employment, training and lifestyle activities.
Due to expansion of the HR Team, we are seeking a motivated, experienced, and proactive HR Generalist to join the Industrial Relations team at Indie Education. This role offers a unique and exciting opportunity to work closely with the Senior IR Generalist and Head of IR & Risk to make an impact across key HR & IR functions, including high level managing performance advice, policy development, Work Cover and Injury Management, workplace investigations, IR case management and disciplinary management process standards.

Core Workplace Objectives
- Support investigations, including misconduct, behavioural issues, complaints, disputes and grievances within in a large, diverse and complex organisational setting.
- Analyse weekly data and prepare high-level reports to identify themes, trends and systemic issues at both operational and organisational levels.
- Contribute to developing the IR & HR Framework.
- Provide consistent high level IR advice and coaching to People Leaders and supervisors in accordance with IR better practices, legislative guidelines, sustainable outcomes and Company policy.
- Contribute to IR projects by identifying improvement opportunities and providing business insights.
- Provide high level advice to the Management Team on Industrial Relations matters.
- Incorporating best practice relating to compliance and risk management principles with IR.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with regional leadership teams and provide consultancy, support and advice to senior leaders, line managers and employees on a wide range of HR and IR matters.
- Provide daily operational support to the IR Team and the Head of IR & Risk.
- Support managers in the complaint management & Investigation process and managing performance processes.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers on IR and HR issues, contributing to the development of their leadership capabilities and the overall framework.
- Contribute to high level reports that include monthly reports/investigation reports/IR review and advice.
- Contribute to the review and development of company-wide policies, procedures, and systems, actively participating in their consistent implementation.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, templates, and documents for key IR processes.
- Maintaining a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and supporting the implementation and delivery of systems and processes across the organisation.
- Monitor and respond to HR enquiries in designated HR mailboxes as and when required.
For this position with our company, applicants must:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources (or related field or experience), with knowledge and understanding of IR and HR principles.
- Have a minimum of 2 years' HR Generalist experience, with the ability to communicate, engage, and form sustainable relationships with all stakeholders.
- Demonstrate some genuine IR Experience.
- Have a solutions-focused approach and deal with issues and change in a proactive, positive, and dynamic way.
- An ability to occasionally travel interstate as required in accordance with operational requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment that adopts change.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
