Senior Manager People & Culture

Duration: Full time, fixed term (2-years)

Base Salary: $124,011 to $132,123 per annum (Admin 8.1 to 8.4)

Who are we?

Established in 1991, Danila Dilba Health Service (DDHS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation committed to providing culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care services and community development within the Biluru (Aboriginal) community of the Yilli Rreung (Greater Darwin) Region in the Northern Territory.

We work to address the social determinants of health including the broader issues that affect our people's health, through evidence-based research and public advocacy. We also work to empower individuals, families, and communities to optimise their health.

About the role

This is a strategic human resources leadership role, responsible for both leading and mentoring the People and Culture team as well as driving strategic initiatives which will build DDHS workforce capacity, engagement and retention, and support achievement of DDHS' strategic objectives.

The Senior Manager People & Culture will also provide leadership and guidance to the People and Culture team, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services across recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, performance management and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement contemporary people and culture strategies which both complement and align with the DDHS strategic plan, and other operational initiatives.
  • Develop and implement plans to support the delivery and achievement of the Aboriginal employment strategy.
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the People and Culture function ensuring the provision of quality, timely and consistent services.
  • Provide leadership and support to the Learning and Development Officer, ensuring DDHS' strategic People and Culture priorities are captured.
  • Identify and make recommendations on opportunities to improve processes, quality, and service delivery outcomes.

To be successful you will need:

Essential

  • Extensive experience in a senior People and Culture leadership role, with a demonstrated track record of achievement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary human resources management principles and practices, employee relations and employment legislation.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully developing and implementing people and culture strategies and programs across complex organisations.
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships and partnerships with stakeholders including the ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proven experience in managing people and culture teams and delivering best practice people and culture services.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or similar.

Desirable

  • Experience in working with an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation

What we offer:

  • 6 weeks annual leave per annum
  • 5 days paid leave during our end of year shut down period (in addition to annual leave).
  • Salary packaging of up to $15,990 per annum.
