Our client, a leading nonprofit organisation dedicated to providing support to individuals in local communities. Their mission is to empower people to achieve their goals and add value to everything they do. They are seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner at the Specialist / Advanced level devoting to making a difference to join the team in Newcastle.
This role will involve;
Developing comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans that are therapeutic, incorporate positive behavior strategies and are compliant with the legislative requirements under the NDIS and Aged Care Programs.
What does this role look like for you?
• Developing comprehensive Behaviour support plans
• Engage people from all walks of life, carers and other persons involved in care of the participant in the implementation of the Behaviour Support Plan.
• Use a positive behavioral and strengths-based approach with a clear focus on person-centred interventions
• Use research evidence and professional reasoning when recommending the most appropriate Behaviour Support Plan therapy strategies
• Build effective relationships with participants and internal stakeholders
• Demonstrate excellent skills in managing team, time management, setting priorities, complex planning and organising own work to achieve specific objectives.
Requirements;
- Currently, NDIS qualified
- Experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner- Advanced (minimum) or Specialist would be ideal
- Experience working within the NDIS
- Must want to be part of a team, ongoing team building and collaboration
- Unrestricted driver's license and personal vehicle
