The Opportunity

Murray Constructions is looking for a hands-on Earthworks Foreman / Excavator Operator to lead small civil crews across key infrastructure projects in the Riverina region.

This is a practical leadership role where you’ll be on the ground each day - supervising a small team, operating plant (primarily excavator and skid steer), and delivering quality for the construction of new bridges. You’ll be based in Deniliquin, work Monday to Friday, and be home every night.

We’re after someone with solid civil experience, strong excavator skills, and a straightforward, team-first approach to getting the job done right.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead and coordinate a small civil crew on regional infrastructure projects

Operate excavators on site - final trim skills a bonus but not essential

Read plans and set out levels with surveyor support, ensuring safe and accurate works

Work closely with management to keep projects moving on time

Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and site communication

Jump in and support the crew when needed - this is a hands-on role

What We're Looking For

We’re after a reliable foreman who knows how to lead from the front - someone who takes pride in their work, has strong plant skills, and knows how to guide a crew.

Experience supervising small civil crews (ideally in earthworks or subdivisions)

Confident on excavators (final trim preferred but not required)

Good communicator who can plan ahead and keep jobs moving

White Card and valid driver's license

Strong understanding of safety, site coordination, and quality delivery

Practical leadership style - no egos, just solid work ethic and respect
