The firm has been a trusted adviser of the Canberra community (and surrounds) for the last five decades across Family Law, Property Law, Wills & Estates and Commercial Law.

This is a great opportunity for an skilled family lawyer to continue their professional growth under one of Canberra's most experienced family law partners, in amongst a tight-knit team of 30+ lawyers and support staff.

The role.

You will work closely with the Senior Associate and Partner to provide high-quality family law services including, but not limited to:

• Advise on legal rights, responsibilities, and options in family law matters
• Represent clients in Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia proceedings
• Draft affidavits, court applications, and formal advice documents
• Draft and negotiate legally binding parenting plans, consent orders and financial agreements
• Manage dispute resolution processes including mediation, arbitration, and negotiation
• Handle parenting arrangements (custody, visitation, relocation
• Assist in matters involving child protection, family violence, or risk assessments
• Liaising and briefing with Counsel
• Build trust and rapport with clients while maintaining professional boundaries
  
  

About You.

You will be a highly motivated and emotionally intelligent lawyer with the capacity to work under guidance and appropriate autonomy. Ideally you will have:

• 3-5 years PQE in Family Law with demonstrated experience or interest in the role requirements outlined above
• Interim Hearing experience (preferred, not required)
• Confident and approachable with a high level of attention to detail
• Initiative to formulate and execute strategies
