The Role:
As a Junior Pastry Chef, you'll assist in the preparation of a range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods. This role is perfect for someone with basic pastry experience or training who wants to expand their skills and gain experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing pastries, desserts, and other baked goods under the supervision of senior pastry chefs.
- Maintain quality and consistency by following recipes and company standards.
- Ensure workstations and equipment are kept clean and organised in line with food safety regulations.
- Learn and develop pastry techniques by working closely with the team.
- Support the team in daily tasks such as stock preparation and ingredient organization.
Working Hours & Pay:
- Monday to Friday: 3 am to 11 am
- Hourly Rate: $30.13 per hour.
- Additional Loading: $4.08 per hour for shifts worked between 3 am to 7 am
Requirements:
- Some experience in a pastry or baking environment (e.g., previous role or relevant training/coursework).
- A passion for pastry and baking, with a willingness to learn and grow.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude, teamwork, and strong attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work early morning shifts.
