Baker Bleu are looking for a skilled pastry chef to join the team on our evening production shift.
About us
Baker Bleu started as a small bakery in 2016, creating ethical and delicious sourdough bread for Melbourne to enjoy.
In the last 8 years, Baker Bleu has seen significant growth - with 4 locations across 2 states (With more on the way) Baker Bleu is proud to bring back the joys of real bread using the ancient techniques of long fermentation sourdough.
Our pastry kitchen produces an exciting range of Viennoiserie using natural levain. The extended proofing process creates a depth of flavour and robust texture not found in regular yeasted products. Our range is broad and dynamic, with a focus on high quality ingredients, seasonal products and minimal waste.
We also produce a diverse range of sourdough breads, as well as bagels, sourdough pizza, sandwiches and more - our offering is constantly growing and evolving. We are proud to offer a range of wholesale products to some of Melbourne’s best restaurants and we regularly take part in industry events and collaborations.
With plans for continued growth and some exciting projects on the horizon, we’re looking for a skilled pastry chef to join the team

About the role
Working with the team in our Hawksburn pastry kitchen, you will assist with daily production on our evening shift, with early afternoon starts working through into the evening. You will be responsible for producing a range of our pastry products, from laminated dough through to custards, sauces, cookies & more.
Working with the team in our Hawksburn pastry kitchen requires a positive and collaborative attitude – We all work together to ensure the job is done and treat each other with respect.
Consistency and precision are of the highest priority to us. A successful employee will have respect for the pastry process and take pride in delivering a high quality product, as well as living the baker bleu values.
To be considered, you will need previous experience as a pastry chef in medium-scale production. Experience in viennoiserie production or a pastry production at a bakery will be an advantage.
