This role offers the opportunity to engage with influential decision makers in business, finance, and government, contributing to policy formation and regulations that impact both the organisation and its clients. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of strategic regulatory and institutional engagement across APAC, with experience in market structure and electronic trading being a plus.
What you'll do:
As an APAC Regulatory Specialist, your role will be pivotal in shaping the firm's strategy and engagement with Government and Regulatory authorities. You will be responsible for responding to public consultations, participating in expert Working Groups, convening high-level stakeholders, and delivering regulatory adherence solutions. Your work will involve close collaboration with senior members of our External Relations team in APAC as well as other key colleagues globally.
- Support engagement with senior decision makers and regulators within financial markets
- Execute on the wider advocacy and engagement priorities of the region
- Understand and articulate the impact of regulations, and help to drive for cross-market solutions
- Build and manage industry association relationships to monitor and engage on key issues
- Design, organise and execute regulatory and policy engagement activities and high-level regulatory conferences and events across APAC
- Work closely with cross-departmental colleagues, locally and globally
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the APAC Regulatory Specialist role will bring a wealth of experience from working directly or collaborating with policymakers and regulatory authorities. You should have a strong background in financial services in a legal, government & regulatory affairs, or Policy Advisor capacity. Your ability to influence both internally and externally will be crucial in this role. Additionally, you should possess outstanding critical thinking, research, analysis, communication skills, along with a proven track record of being a strong strategic thinker.
- 6-8 years' experience working directly or collaborating with policymakers and regulatory authorities
- Experience working in financial services in a legal, government & regulatory affairs, or Policy Advisor capacity
- Strong ability to influence both internally and externally
- Ability to understand domestic nuances and global developments
- Outstanding critical thinking, research, analysis and communication skills
- Proven track record of being a strong strategic thinker and executor
