Financial Accountant – 6 Month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Melbourne (Fully Onsite)
Hourly Rate: $40ph - $45ph

Are you a hands-on finance professional with a knack for compliance and reporting? TEC have partnered with a well-established wholesale business in Melbourne who are currently seeking someone for a 6-month fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension.

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to take ownership of key finance functions, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and statutory compliance. This is a fully onsite role within a collaborative and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all statutory compliance requirements

Prepare accurate financial and management reports

Conduct balance sheet reconciliations

Process payroll and manage lodgments for BAS, STP, superannuation, payroll tax, and Work Cover

Reconcile monthly stock take and investigate variances

Coordinate and manage the annual audit process

Lead the budgeting and forecasting cycle

Key Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

5-6 years' experience in a financial accounting role, experience in wholesale, distribution, or similar industries (advantageous)

CPA or CA qualification highly regarded.

Proficiency in financial systems, with MYOB experience highly regarded.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Ability to manage competing priorities and meet critical deadlines, particularly during EOFY.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels.
