About the role
As a valued member of our Older Persons' Mental Health (OPMH) team, you will:
- Deliver high-quality psychological care, including assessment, diagnosis, case formulation, and evidence-based treatment for older adults experiencing cognitive, emotional, and behavioural difficulties across outpatient, community, and inpatient settings.
- Conduct neuropsychological and capacity assessments for individuals with neurocognitive disorders, mental illness, or neurological conditions, contributing to accurate diagnoses and informed care planning.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and communicate findings to multidisciplinary teams, NGOs, community stakeholders, and government bodies (e.g., NCAT), supporting decisions on guardianship, financial management, and tailored treatment recommendations.
- Support integrated mental health care by participating in intake processes, completing initial mental health assessments, and providing time-limited individual case management aligned with clear therapeutic goals.
- Contribute to clinical research, education, and training, including supervising psychology students, mentoring peers, and promoting best practices in neuropsychological service delivery across the OPMH network.
About you
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled psychologist who brings the following:
- Recognised qualifications and registration, including postgraduate training in Clinical Psychology or Neuropsychology, full AHPRA registration, and endorsement in the relevant specialty area.
- Expertise in psychological and/or neuropsychological practice, with demonstrated experience in conducting cognitive and capacity assessments or delivering evidence-based interventions tailored to older adults' mental health needs.
- Strong clinical judgment and practice, with the ability to integrate theoretical knowledge, critical thinking, and evidence-based approaches into daily decision-making and treatment planning.
- Commitment to recovery-oriented care, with a collaborative approach to engaging consumers in the development and implementation of their individual care plans.
- Team-focused and self-directed, with the ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team, plus a current unrestricted NSW Driver's Licence for community-based work.
