The Opportunity
As the Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Service Desk and Project Officer, you will work within the existing collaborative arrangements between East Gippsland Shire (EGSC) and Wellington Shire (WSC) Councils. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the administration and functions of the IT service desk while assisting in the delivery of several IT projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite ICT Service Desk support to internal customers
- Set up, relocate and install equipment and software and maintain asset register
- Support the ICT Team Leader Customer Support with Councillor ICT support and service for Council Meetings
- Keep detailed records and maintain support agreements and contracts
- Preparation of ICT project requirements to facilitate Capital Project Procurement requirements.
- Support internal ICT Change Management Procedures
This is a full-time, limited tenure role for a 2-year period to support the completion of several projects within Council, with expected completion dates in 2027. The incumbent will work across both Bairnsdale (EGSC) and Sale (WSC).
Things You’re Proud Of (Key Selection Criteria)
- Demonstrated experience in administering and operating an ICT Service Desk, ensuring timely, effective, and customer-focused service delivery
- Proven ability to research, monitor, and report on industry trends and vendor developments to support strategic ICT planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience in supporting collaborative ICT arrangements and internal change management procedures across multiple organisations
- Demonstrated technical proficiency in provision of onsite ICT support, including the rollout, setup, relocation, and installation of technology equipment to meet operational requirements.
- Skills in managing ICT assets and records, including maintaining accurate registers for IT assets, consumables, warranties, maintenance/support agreements, and contracts.
- Ability to collaborate on internal technology projects, ensuring they are delivered on time as required by the organisation.
If successful, you will need to undertake a police check. You must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
